Your perspective is your differentiator — and longform is how you prove it.

I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but when every business owner in your industry is talking about the same stuff, posting the most isn’t going to set you apart.

But you know what will? Giving people something to actually sink their teeth into.

Your expertise, your industry insights, your unique perspective — content with substance is what’ll make readers remember you. And it’s also how people will find you.

Oh, and also?

Your best ideas deserve more than a 48-hour shelf life in the feed.

You absolutely do not have to stay on the social media hamster wheel, constantly pumping out new ideas that’ll be buried by tomorrow when longform is literally right there.

Longform content helps you get found on Google, builds your authority, grows your thought leadership, works as a sales tool, positions you as the go-to person for your thing, and keeps your most brilliant ideas alive and circulating. (Need I go on?)

So, basically: If you’re tired of spending hours on carousel posts you’re SO proud of only to watch them flop in the algorithm, maybe it’s time to bring in a sustainable content strategist to make your best stuff last.

Oh, hi, that’s me!

Sunny Send Up By Charlee Ray Brand Assets_Bow + Cherry - Cherry Red - Blushin

Hey, I’m Charlee Rey!

And I was obsessed with blogging way before it was cool.

I started my first blog in high school, secretly, because I had things to SAY, but I was so incredibly embarrassed at the prospect of people finding it and *gasp* reading it?!

This was before blogging was a ~cool business strategy~, and as a girl raised in a holler (IYKYK), “content strategist” wasn’t exactly on my radar as an actual career option.

I’ve started dozens of blogs over the years, but I only figured out SEO and content marketing were actual, legit jobs when I landed a paid agency internship after college. It felt like the world was my oyster after that.

Since then, I’ve worked with SaaS, tech, and ecommerce brands and written dozens of articles that ranked on page one of Google. Now, I help creative business owners with unbuttoned brands turn their ideas into strategic, longform content that supports them for the long haul.

When it comes to your brand, I go full rabbit-hole mode.

I’m the kind of person who finds your website and immediately falls down the rabbit hole — reading every blog post you’ve ever published, subscribing to your email list, and somehow ending up on a three-year-old Instagram post while mentally mapping out everything you could be doing with your content.

Like, this is genuinely my version of fun.

Which means when you work with me, you don’t have to have your voice perfectly figured out or know exactly what you want to say. I’ll dive in and learn your audience, your ideas, the ins and outs of your brand voice, and your oddly specific way of seeing things — and help you incorporate all of that into content your audience loves.

Now for the fun stuff —

I’m a content strategist, but I’m also ~just a girl~.

At any given moment I’m probably deep in a novel, two weeks into a random Minecraft phase, or running my Stardew Valley farm like it’s my full-time job while simultaneously ignoring the 3-day-old pile of dishes in my sink.

I like to pretend I’m a girly girl, but the truth is I’m really more of a country girl (just not the MAGA kind, to be clear).

One of the most anticipated events of my year is a festival *literally* called Hillbilly Days, I sound like a piece of cornbread personified when I speak, and I somehow end up wandering aimlessly around one of the numerous local Dollar Generals 5 out of 7 days of any week.

You can catch me yapping on Threads about God knows what 24/7/365, but if you meet me in real life, you may be surprised that I’m actually more introverted than extroverted (and there’s also the cornbread thing).

I live in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky with my fiancé, two stepdaughters, my standard poodle Rocky, and my hairless cat Benji (who thinks Rocky is his best friend – Rocky does not agree).

As a late-diagnosed ADHDer, I’ve come to believe my neurodivergence is genuinely the reason I can step into a client’s brand and become so obsessed with it that it starts to feel like my own.

And of course, some fun facts:

“Rey” is actually NOT my last name – I completely made it up bc I didn’t want people from high school to be able to Google me 🙃

I have a collection of past W2s like some people have of stamps – my most recent was a professional dog walking job (like with a licensed company where I legit drove to like 10 houses a day to walk people’s dogs).

I regularly eat an entire cooked zucchini for dinner and nothing else because girl dinner is a lifestyle ok?!?!

I came up with my brand name as a play on sunny side up eggs and I’m pretty sure absolutely nobody has ever picked up on this without me mentioning it which kind of haunts me ngl.

Now that you got the vibe:

Here's how we can work together.

I’ll forever die on the hill that EVERY creative business owner needs to be leveraging longform, and here’s how I intend to help you make it happen.
